“Victories and podiums are the goals for Ocala”

Brownsburg, Indiana – April 1, 2008 – First Kart North America, First Kart USA along with the FirstKart.com race team are headed South this week in preparation for the first round of the 2008 Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series. With a total of five drivers on track at the Ocala Gran Prix facility, the FirstKart.com Race Team will be looking to start the chase for the national championship off right.

Competing in the ultra competitive Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) division will be Florida’s Spencer Pigot and Californian Miles Maroney. Both drivers were winners on the national campaign last year with Pigot taking a victory at the USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI and Maroney doing the double at Moran Raceway in California. Both drivers also finished in the top five in the overall points and will look to be a threat for divisional and national championships. Colorado pilot James Michael Sullivan will forgo the East division championship this year as the rookie JICA driver will contest in the West and log several test laps throughout ’08.

A new year brings a new class to the Stars of Karting series and a new driver will join the FirstKart.com squad. Canadian pilot Max Riddle will be under the watchful eye of Kevin Loster as the British Columbia duo will team up and battle in the new Spec Intercontinental C (ICC) category. Riddle, who normally competes in Rotax and TaG classes, will try his hand at a shifter and will compete in both the East and West coast championships.

Two FirstKart.com drivers will enter the Stars TaG class as Floridian Chris Larson will team with Phoenix resident AJ Whisler. Larson, who has been a front runner at the recently completed Florida Winter Tour and Whisler, who scored a solid top ten at last years Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals will look to work together and take the top two podium steps. Though both drivers will be on different motor packages, they will be a dynamic duo in the ’08 TaG division.

“We are excited to get the Stars season started,” stated Team Principal Tony Ventresca. “We have a great group of drivers and a great group of tuners who have worked together for a few years now. The Ocala Gran Prix facility has been good to us in the past and we hope that we can start our national championship chase on a good note.”
